There's also a butterfly valve on the exhaust that opens up at high revs, which not only allows the engine to breathe better, but also makes for a soul shaking soundtrack at WOT.

Nice.

Isn't their another company that makes a similar set up? Sounds like it opens up automatically, which is actually pretty sweet.

VW has that on the R32...under low throttle input the baffle is in place but when you mash it the bafle opens up for a very nice exhaust note. There are several companies that do this.

The VW R32 was a limited run AWD hatch back with a 3.2l VR6 good for about 240HP in stock form. There are myriad turbo and twin turbo kits from a lot of reputable dealers, that can make over 600hp (as a stage III HPA single turbo kit).

It was direct competitor for the STI and Evo as far as price goes, but it clearly couldn't match the performance numbers. Even so VW fans flocked to it and is still sells for near its original sticker price (MSRP was near $34K new, and I've seen them recently for $28K with a decent amount of miles on it).

Oh yes it does, saw that when I sliced mine into little pieces and threw it into a dumpster...

Isn't the problem w/ the R32s the fact that they cost thousands of dollars to mod and there is no ECU available?
