How long do you think it will take before you can buy a GT-R for sticker without extra dealer markup?

not long, I hope! At the current rate, the MSRP will be $100k soon:hammer_head:

I don't think anything will change until Nissan raises production, hope they do.

When do you think Nissan will raise production? The demand is already there. Maybe they are trying to keep the supply down so the price will stay higher.

With the economy the way it is, I think a lot of businesses are going the conservative route. Demand is there, yes, but times are only toughening. It's better to have something be in demand, than to oversupply and get yourself in trouble.

What is likely to happen is that Nissan is going to keep raising the price. So even if you buy one for sticker in the next year or 2 it will be more than if you just bucked up now and paid 10k over list. We sold all of our original 7 at 10k over list so for about $94k and now Nissan has raised the price 6k and we did get 3 more for 09 and I bet we are able to sell these for 7 to 10k over list. Next year for 2010 I bet the price goes up another 6 to 8 k and so then even if we sell them for list it will be more than what you could have bought them for originally at 10k over list. BTW if you are interested in one for 7 to 10k let me know I do have 3 that I can still order and change for a January delivery.

I think by mid 2010 model year, you will be able to get one at list.
These days, every market gets ruined by an undercutter sooner or later...

I ordered mine in late 07 and was able to deal with great dealer in RI Inskip(Penske group) and got it at list not a penny over. They have made a customer for life.

I hope Nissan never makes enough to satisfy all the demand at sticker as then my car will be worth less and how am I going to then get enough in trade to get the Spec V! I am number one on that list already!

nice - base models not enough for you? Any reason your not justing adding an exhaust and accessport to add the extra 50-60 hp?

With the exhaust i would get maybe 10-15hp from what i hear and i may do this but as far as the access port I just am afraid of Nissan and how they are going to just walk away from the car if anything goes wrong.
I feel Nissan has really hurt themselves with the whole voided warrenty if the VDC is off and their adversion to modifcations is also going to hurt them as this is what made the Skyline so popular. Nissan can learn from Toyota and how the Supra became a cult car and gave Toyota a great rep. for building a great engine.
What have you done so far to your car?

My Elise has an Eaton MP62 supercharger, RC 440cc injectors, ecu reflash, side mount intercooler, moroso oil pan, & CM stage 1 Clutch.
Stock put down 157whp (190 crank) at 7psi it is now putting down 270whp (320 crank estimated)
Not a bad power to weight ratio in a 1950 lbs car. 1950 / 320 = 6.09

I sold my 93 Supra to make room for the GT-R. The Supra had about 600 HP at the wheels. So I can relate to yur power!
I also race a 930 Porsche or used to race(divorce took care of that) that weighed about 2300 lbs and had anywhere from 575 to 650 at the wheels.
Just found out that the "black box" in the GT-R only keeps in memory the last 3 drive cycles. So as long as you start the car up cold and drive it till warm and then let it cool down and do it again 2 more times the black box will not show anything before the first time. This is good to know if you do mods and then something goes wrong!

Your race porsche sounds like a blast.
How come you didn't take your MK4 supra farther than 600, daily driver?
Good info on the black box, thanks.

600 hp at the wheels was plenty as i can honestly say i never lost a race on the road or on the track. HP is not everything unless you are doing the 1/4 mile which i did not do. As long as i had the power to compete I depended on my driving skills to win. Sometimes to much power gets you in trouble and gives you a faulse sense of being unbeatable which non of us are.
The Porsche could have had 1.3 bar of boost i kept it at .8 to .9 and still won all my races.
I will get another 50-100 hp out of the GT-R which will make up for the 300 extra pounds it carries around.
I did 1.01 at Lime Rock already and this is fast on Hoosiers never mind street tires. I did feel I needed more power in the 80 mph to 110 mph range.
Where are you from?

Your exhaust would add much more that 10to15hp I can asure you of that. Hell just adding a tbe to an evo you gain 15whp and up too 30hp and thats on a 2.0L 4banger.
I can definitely understand your thoughts on the warranty aspect. However, in my personal opinion and its just my opinion when i buy a performance car a warranty never enters my mind and therefore I could care less because I know that I am going to mod the hell out of it.
And as far as toyota I think I can comment on this as I am a proud owner of a supra that toyota fell off that bandwagon along time ago. Now toyota of north america concerns themselves of making fuel efficient vehicles. The supra was a thing of the past. And its sad to see because the supra is what made toyota here in north america as a true car enthusiast competitor.
At least we all know that the historic engines like the 2jz, 1jz, 7mg, 5mg, and ae86 arent going anywhere for a very long time.
